Emily Blunt and husband John Krasinski put on a loving show as they hit the red carpet for the American Institute for Stuttering’s 18th Annual Gala in New York City on Monday.
The 41-year-old actress was back to host the gala after working at the institute for nearly 20 years.
The actress has hosted the event regularly in recent years and has been open in the past about her own struggle with stuttering, stressing that it is a neurological – and often hereditary – condition, not a psychological disorder.
Emily looked her best at the gala as she contrasted her 44-year-old husband’s tasteful suit with a gorgeous white dress adorned with red floral patterns.
She showed off a fuller bust in the deep-cut, sleeveless dress with thick straps.

She contrasted the muted pattern of the dress with striking, irregular stripes of crimson on the dress, which were meant to look like hastily applied paint lines.
Emily’s tiered skirt featured a short layer just below her waist, while the main layer reached almost to the floor, barely covering her open heels.
The Sicario star completed her look with her dirty blonde hair in glossy waves that fell gracefully over her shoulders.
She was joined on the red carpet by her husband John, who contrasted her vibrant outfit with a much more subdued navy suit.
He paired the suit with a white shirt, a narrow navy silk tie, gray-blue patterned socks and black leather shoes.
The Office star completed her stylish outfit with a luxurious wristwatch with a black leather strap.
He and Emily beamed for the cameras, exchanging loving glances as they gazed into each other’s eyes.
She was present at the gala after supporting the institute for the past 18 years, since 2006.
During her speech last November at Variety’s Power of Women event, Emily delved deeper into her experiences with stuttering.
She described the condition as an “impostor” living inside her that “doesn’t pay rent,” according to Variety.
She added that the condition “gives a completely wrong impression of who you are as a person.”
While many of her fans would be surprised to learn that she stutters, Emily stressed that she still considers herself to have a stutter, and the condition can still manifest itself when she tries to say certain words under certain circumstances.

Emily has largely overcome her stutter, but she admitted at Variety’s Power of Women event last year that she still gets stuck on certain words, and she said talking on the phone can be dangerous
She added that talking on the phone is “a bit of a nightmare,” an experience that many people who stutter can relate to.
Blunt was honored at the event with the Wells Fargo’s Power of Women Alumni Award for her commitment to helping children overcome stuttering through her work at the American Institute for Stuttering.
She concluded her speech by urging people dealing with someone who stutters to be patient and not try to finish their sentences or urge them to “speak more slowly, or breathe, or spit it out.”
Blunt recently starred opposite Ryan Gosling in the critically acclaimed box office hit The Fall Guy and also voiced a character in the fantasy film IF, which her husband John wrote and directed.
