  • Basic Salary Range: Ksh 39,700 – Ksh 52,960 per month

Role Overview

As an Information Communication Technology Officer I, you will be at the forefront of implementing ICT strategies that will shape Kenya’s digital future. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the nation’s development by leveraging technology to drive efficiency, transparency, and inclusivity in public service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

As an ICT Officer I, you will play a critical role in the deployment, management, and optimization of ICT resources across various government departments and agencies. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  1. System Administration and Maintenance:
    • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software and hardware systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
    • Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with established security protocols and standards.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and service disruption.
  2. Network Management:
    • Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), ensuring seamless connectivity and secure data transfer.
    • Monitor network performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance network efficiency and reliability.
  3. User Support and Training:
    • Provide technical support and training to end-users across various departments to enhance their ICT skills and knowledge.
    • Develop user manuals, guides, and training materials to facilitate effective use of ICT resources.
  4. Data Management and Security:
    • Implement data management strategies to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.
    • Perform regular data backups and recovery processes to safeguard critical information and systems.
    • Monitor cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate countermeasures to protect government information systems.
  5. ICT Project Implementation:
    • Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of ICT projects in line with the Ministry’s strategic objectives.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of ICT initiatives, including digital transformation projects.
  6. Research and Innovation:
    • Conduct research on emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to enhance service delivery.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of new ICT policies, procedures, and standards to align with global best practices.
