Dagoretti Boys High School closed indefinitely after student unrest that left 11 injured

Dagoretti Boys High School has been closed indefinitely and learning activities have been suspended following unrest among students.

According to multiple reports, the unrest was fueled by a disagreement over a basketball game on Sunday, September 15, 2024, escalating into a heated confrontation that left 11 students with injuries.

Police who arrived at the scene to quell the tension and v******e noted that the chaos erupted after a dispute between a Form One student and a Form Four student emerged.

However, the chaos turned v*****t following a fight between Kenyan and Sudanese students, over religious indifferences.

This saw the students attack each other with sticks and stones.

The v*****t chaos further erupted into destroying property at the institution forcing the school administration to send the students home.

The school officials emphasised that the school closure is meant to protect the students and tame the v******e.

This morning, tension was still high at the institution even as more police were deployed at the scene.

The injured students are currently being treated at the Garden Medical Clinic in stable condition.
