‘Very soon, my nannies are going to drive their own cars’ – Diana Marua

Kenyan content creator and singer Diana Marua now says that her nannies will soon be cruising in their own cars.

In an interview with Kenya Online Media, Diana revealed that she plans to gift her nannies with cars, emphasizing the importance of elevating those around her.

“It’s good to elevate the p****e around you. Some are less privileged, and that is not their fault. We should help our workers and motivate them. And very soon, my nannies will drive their own cars, that’s my prayer for them. They will be the ones dropping the kids to school,” Diana said.

Nannies’ demands to Diana

The big-hearted gesture comes after an episode on her family’s Netflix reality show The Bahati’s Empire, where Diana and her husband, singer Kevin Bahati, had a lighthearted conversation with their house managers Justo, Irene, and Josephine about their demands for a salary raise and some added perks.

“We had an issue but not a big one. We have been working for you, and you appreciate our work. What we would ask for is a salary raise. We work for Aunt Madough (‘rich auntie’),” she added.

Josephine was equally upfront about her expectations, especially given the family’s planned move to the upscale Kitusuru neighbourhood.

“There is no way you are moving to Kitusuru and paying us peanuts. You should pay us good money because you are a rich auntie,” she joked.

With a touch of humour, Josephine highlighted her financial woes noting that she feels embarrassed having small change on her.

“Imagine if someone k*******d me and found out that I only had KSh 50; what embarrassment would that be?”

Irene chimed in, adding that being somewhat famous now comes with its own set of challenges since the family exposed them to the lifestyle.

Josephine highlighted that having lived with the family long enough she deserves a salary raise of at least Ksh200,000.

“We keep getting p****e asking us to take selfies because they see us on the show, yet we have no money.”

Speaking for the rest, Josephine also demanded that they each get a c*r even if it’s a cheap model.

“Now, we want you to buy us each a c*r, a small c*r (Kadudu), and give us a raise. If you give me Ksh 200,000, that will be fine because I have stayed with you for long,” Josephine remarked.
