Fikile Mbalula has told those burning their ANC regalia and t-shirts to remember that they did not join the ANC because of an individual or individuals. He said that those who joined because of individuals can go with such individuals. He said, “Those who join the ANC do so voluntarily. You don’t join an individual, but you join the ANC. If you want to join individuals, then go with them”. Fikile Mbalula went to address those who were burning their ANC regalia and t-shirts because of the expulsion of Ace Magashule, ANC former Secretary-General. Fikile Mbalula made them to understand why they should remain in the party even though Ace Magashule is not in the party any more. He addressed them that they didn’t join the ANC because of one man, but he said that even if there are people who joined because of one individual, these ones are free to leave with the expelled individuals.
Recall that some people began burning their ANC shirts and clothes, saying that they will not stop until they are addressed. They were aggrieved because of Ace Magashule. Fikile Mbalula said that Ace Magashule wanted to see him, but he refused to see Ace Magashule because he is not owing him, hence nothing is connecting them. He wrote on Twitter, “The ANC gives you an opportunity to defend your position. Those who chose not to advance their defences and want to leave can do so. The police must come and arrest those who are burning public property because we would rather not take the law into our hands”. He was reacting to those who were burning things while protesting against the expulsion of Ace Magashule. He said that those people deserve to be locked up.
