Since two days, anyone conversant with South Africa’s social media circle will understand that there is a real battle facing Paul Mashatile, the deputy president of the republic of South Africa. Aside from some media groups writing scandalous things about the former ANC Treasurer-General, some popular social media influencers are also dedicating their social media handles to bring him down. One influencer revealed that it all started after he started showing up as a possible replace for president Cyril Ramaphosa. This is what pro-Ramaphosa’s supporters would rather not hear. Goolam, one of the stooge accounts used to defend Ramaphosa wrote today, “Paul Mashatile Will Not Survive. If what I heard is true, bombshells exist with paper trail evidence against him. Today is just the start. He is corrupt as hell. Also, a sex tape exists of his with a famous ex model/actress. Paul’s women are multiracial. It’s Game Over For Paul Mashatile”.
However, people are coming to defend Paul Mashatile saying that he is the best the ANC can offer currently, saying that none of the party’s top leaders are free from scandals, not even the current president of the party. One social media user asked, “Surely the ANC has better leaders than this? None of us can claim to being perfect, but this is just the next level. How did he get elected to such an important leadership position?”. Someone revealed, “The number is out on Paul Mashatile. Journalists have been told to make sure he’s out by December. They don’t want him as DP in Cyril Ramaphosa’s second term. It’s going to be Scandal after Scandal, and he’s not the smartest rat in the hole, he’s easy”. There is really a tough war he must fight. Someone in the ANC wrote, “ANC branches gave a Mafia boss called Paul Mashatile as our deputy and our next president.
