Music Is Sweet Like Having Sex In A Way But Better – DJ LOTUS

According to report from Daily Sun, DJ Lotus has expressed her unique perspective on music, likening it to the experience of engaging in sexual activity.

DJ LOTUS, whose real name is Ntsamaeng Moseamedi, is making waves in the world of Afro-tech house music. The 25-year-old music enthusiast has captivated both women in the house music scene and men who groove to her soulful and refreshing sounds.

In 2016, Lotus Mae discovered her passion for music and took it upon herself to immerse in its study. She pursued music composition, production, sound engineering, and music business at Central Johannesburg College.

In an interview with Daily Sun, she revealed that DJ Kinetic served as her inspiration to pursue a career in DJing. Kinetic, who was a DJ and content producer for YFM, provided her with valuable insights into the industry, solidifying her decision to pursue this path.

Her first DJ residency came in 2017 at Chesa Nyama Braamfontien. However, her real breakthrough in the entertainment industry came when she joined Cobra Tycoon Online Radio, now known as Opulence Online Radio.

Describing her sound as Afro-tech, Lotus Mae blends African beats with techno music, creating a unique fusion that sets her apart in the industry.

“Music is the theatre of the mind. It paints pictures using sound and it’s like having sex in a way but better,” DJ Lotus said.

As a young black female DJ, Lotus Mae has not only made a name for herself in the Afro-tech house music scene but has also curated playlists for Paradise Sound System on Spotify. Her talent and dedication have caught the attention of international artists, including Frankawara, a music producer from the Canary Islands, who has opened doors for other international artists to take notice of her work.
