Zandile Khumalo is facing tough questions regarding her testimony in the High Court in Pretoria. Newzroom Afrika’s Zikhona Tshona has the latest. During her cross examination in the #SenzoMeyiwaTrial, she says the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates star was not honest. “He will say one thing to Mandisa and another to Kelly.”

Defense counsel for accused 4, Zithulele Nxumalo will now cross-examine Zandile. He tells court that he has requested the state to provide him with cellphone records.

Nxumalo: I am going to beam an affidavit from Col Steyn. What is of particular interest for me is page 6. 

Nxumalo: I will refer you to SMS’ here. I will go through all the SMS’ between you and Kelly and I would like for you to respond. Nxumalo reads out another text Kelly sent to Zandile. 

“I regret everything. I wish I didn’t allow Senzo into my life, look at tall the mess he has gotten us into. Its all his lies now affecting all of us.”

Nxumalo: What do you mean by mess? 

Zandile tells court that Senzo would lie to Kelly about being with Mandisa.

Nxumalo reads another SMS that Kelly sent to Zandile. 

“I’m emotionally drained. I sometimes feel that Senzo brought a dark cloud in my life. I can almost hate myself for not succeeding in getting rid of him via sms as it would not go.”

Nxumalo: “I feel like God is deliberately sabotaging me by keeping this man in my life…” 

What did Kelly mean by this sms. 

Zandile: I can’t remember.

In another SMS that Kelly wrote on 31 December 2013.. 

“All I can do is hope and pray that each day I’m getting closer to my day of being free from him.”
