Kilifi North Member of Parliament Owen Baya has criticized the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for always staging anti-government protests every time a presidential election is held in Kenya.

Since February, Raila has been conducting the protests; first saying that his votes were stolen during the August 9, 2022 elections in favour of President Ruto, with the latest demos based on cost of living.

Speaking with KTN News on Tuesday morning, Baya reaffirmed President Ruto’s remarks that the Kenya Kwanza policies are in place to reduce the cost of living, adding that the 2022 polls were the most credible in the history of the country.

The Deputy Majority leader in the National Assembly went on to tell Raila to allow the Kenya Kwanza government deliver on his agenda, and try for his turn in the 2027 polls.668c1489e1834aca941cd071eb1726fb?quality=uhq&resize=720

“We cannot continue to entertain political bad manners. When a government wins an election, it should be given time to implement its manifesto. You cannot lose an election, lose at the Supreme Court and try to use the back door and abuse the Constitution to destabilize a duly elected government.”

“Raila has been known to oppose all presidential results and try to use any means to get in to power. I urge my former Party leader Raila Odinga, give Kenya a break, we need peace and stability and go to the first world but he is dragging us back. He needs to stop and stop such moves now,” said Baya.

Baya’s remarks comes hours after the Azimio camp unveiled the names of their 5 members who will have talks with the Kenya Kwanza team set to be mediated by the former Nigeria President Matthew Obasanjo.
