According to Jeremiah Kioni, the embattled secretary general of the Jubilee Party, Mount Kenya residents are reportedly abandoning the Kenya Kwanza alliance in large numbers.
President William Ruto is aware of this, and is now concentrating on Western Kenya and the Nyanza region, said the former representative for Ndaragwa.
The opposition alliance was present for the burial of a supporter who had died at the hands of the police during the most recent anti-government rallies on Saturday, August 12, when Kioni gave a speech in Vihiga.
The former member of parliament for Ndaragwa warned religious leaders to take extreme precautions because they will be used as a pawn in attempts to colonise the region.
He went on to say that the Ruto-led administration would employ them, putting the villages in which they lived in a similar situation to the Mt. Kenyans.He claimed that there is no way out for the residents of Mount Kenya since they are entrapped in their predicament.
