His Excellency President William Ruto has a few minutes ago made a big surprise to the people of the sub-county of Mount Elgon after he has unexpectedly switched into speaking their local language.
In Mount Elgon, a large population is know for speaking Sabaot language but a few people could have believed that Ruto could actually end up speaking it during his visit to the region.
For over one minute, the president conversed with the residents in Sabaot and they truly showed that they were loving it so much because of the cheers that they made.
It should be remembered that there is a big relationship between the people of Sabaot and the Kalenjin tribe where the president comes from hence the reason it was easier for him to speak their language.
“Kwa sababu mimi ndiye nimejileta hapa sasa sina shida. So wacha nitapanga, si ndiyo? Hii inatoka wapi pale chini? Eeh? Eluguren? Masei? Maseyeke? Anyway si vile mmesema mpaka kule kwa jeshi. Lakini mimi pia nataka nikubaliane na nyinyi. Lazima hii tukubaliane na hii mtanikubalia. Maneno ya kukata msitu haitaendelea,” said President Ruto.
