Jomo Kenyatta is Kenyan first president after the 1963 which the KANU party defeated the KADU of Ronald Ngala, Daniel Moi and the APP party of Paul Ngei which together participated in that elections after the second Lancaster House Conference that paved way independence in Kenya after so many years of struggle.
He the became the head of state and government in 1964 which Oginga Odinga as his first ever vice president whom the later differed and left government in 1968. as the first vice president of the Republic of kenya.
While on his official tour to Mombasa county, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta was expected to meet with his political opponents Oginga Odinga to calm down the political differences between the two in a closed door meeting in Mombasa back in 1978 something that did not happen.
This is because the head of state and government Jomo Kenyatta peacefully passed on while at Statehouse Mombasa while he was resting awaiting for a meeting between him and Oginga Odinga.
According to Kenyatta’s nephew who revealed this to the Taifa Leo Publication (attached below, the bottom line) Kenyatta was keen on meeting Oginga Odinga on good political will to help calminate bad politics that was already ongoing in the country something that did not happen.
