It has now been confirmed that Kenya Kwanza Alliance used other ways to win against the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance during the Finance Bill voting.
According to the latest information, South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro who is also the Chief Whip of 2022-2027 in the National Assembly, Kenya Kwanza used an elaborate scheme to defeat Azimio Members of Parliament. Osoro indicated that they paid some Azimio MPs to stay away from Parliament during the voting exercise.
In my view, this could be true because those Azimio Mps no one could have expected to miss were not even near the Parliament building. This shows that they must have been coerced by the ruling Alliance. It indicates that our leaders don’t have a stand and they can do anything whether good or not.
At the same time, the government should avoid coercing people because that is a threat to the development of our democracy.
