President William Ruto appears to be a man of many surprises. According to most of his supporters, he has surprised them with the way he does things. Many expected him to lower the cost of living as he promised during campaigns. However, that is not the case as the cost of living has been skyrocketing in his administration.
Another surprise the head of state has dropped recently is the reverting the logging ban. In the previous Uhuru’s administration, cutting down of trees was banned to protect the environment. It is a matter that caused uproar as some people had to be evicted from natural resources like the Mau forest.
Mr. Keriako Tobiko who was a former senior person in environment department was largely blamed by Ruto and his allies for the evictions he made. At the time, Ruto saw it as a community-targetted operation. However now, blogger Puline Njoroge has allege that Ruto could be suffering from short-term memory.
Her words imply that the head of state may have forgotten that he was among those who instituted the ban on forest cutting but now he has allowed. She has alleged that Ruto called Keriako Tobiko “mjinga” which loosely translates to a fool.
