The arrest of outspoken blogger Pauline Njoroge has been investigated by NTV reporter Duncan Khaemba.
Khaemba claims that rogue detectives followed Pauline and her friend while they were vacationing in Watamu.
On Saturday, cops along the Watatu-Jakaranda route halted a car carrying Pauline, her friend Jane, and their driver Emanze Jilani.
Detectives who requested anonymity informed NTV that Pauline was set up and drugs were planted on her because of her criticism of the government, despite police claims that they were in possession of narcotics.
When she and her coworkers were jailed, the detectives assigned to follow her allegedly had no leads.
When they got to the Watamu police station, however, they found two rolls of bhang waiting for them.
The bad cops said they found drugs on her, which isn’t true.
At one of Azimio’s weekly demonstrations in Nyanza, where she had spoken just hours before her detention, she had accused police personnel of abusing unarmed Kenyans.
