OCOB Hiring In 6 Positions

The Office of the Controller of Budget (OCOB) is an independent office established under Article 228 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 to oversee the implementation of the budgets of the national and county governments and report on them.

Pursuant to Article 252 (1) (c) of the Constitution, the OCOB seeks to recruit highly qualified and competent staff to fill the following vacant positions.

Director, Legal Services: 1 Position

This position is responsible for providing legal advice on litigation, dispute resolution, legal compliance, enforcement and advisory services.

It will also ensure the implementation of legal policies, systems, and procedures and undertake research on various legal and procedural matters under the legal services function.

Senior Internal Auditor: 2 Positions

This position is responsible for providing independent assurance on the effectiveness of OCOB internal control systems, risk assurance framework and the governance structure

Senior Research and Planning Officer: 1 Position

This position is responsible for developing and implementing of research policies, systems and procedures to guide research programs in the office of the Controller of Budget.

The position is also responsible for developing and monitoring the implementation of the strategic plan for the office of the Controller of Budget and conducting research on potential donors/partners

Legal Officer: 1 Position

This position is responsible for providing legal advice on litigation, dispute resolution, legal compliance, enforcement and advisory services.

Fiscal Analyst

This position is responsible for preparing the budget review reports, monitoring of budgetary performance and processing of requisitions.

Senior Support Staff: 1 Position

Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks
I. Carrying out photocopying, franking and document binding;
II. Ensuring cleanliness in offices and other facilities;
III. Moving and arranging office equipment and furniture;
IV. Ensuring office premises are locked and opened on time;
V. Ensuring proper sanitation;
VI. Collecting and disposing of litter;
VII.Collecting and delivering office items, documents, mail, parcels and
postage; and
VIII. Preparing and serving tea.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The terms of service for each position are specified in the Job Description.

Successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package.

Upon being successful and granted an offer of employment, the successful candidate MUST present clearances and satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 by providing copies of the following;

  1. Tax compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  2. Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
  3. Clearance certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB
  4. Clearance Form from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
