Los Angeles woman, 23, stuns the internet with how she spends her $21K-per-month salary

A 23-year-old influencer has shocked the internet after revealing how much money she makes in a month and, even more surprisingly, how she spends it.

Kelsie Flaim, better known as @thehungryfoodie on TikTok, posts food review videos, mostly focusing on fast food, chain restaurants, and processed foods.

In the video, titled What I Spend In A Month as a 23 year old living in LA, the influencer said she earned $21,343 before taxes in April.

Her housing costs dropped to nearly $3,000, including $2,750 in rent, $38 in utilities and $60 in Wi-Fi, totaling $2,848.

She then analyzed how much she spent on food and drinks, which came to just over $613. She spent $282.23 on groceries, $304.96 on dining out, and $26.02 on DoorDash.

Flaim splurged on her personal care, spending $690 on her hair, $38 on her eyebrows and $480 on weekly massages, totaling $1,208.

For her nights out, she spent $102.42 on Ubers. She doesn’t drink alcohol, so going out wasn’t a major expense for the foodie influencer.

Between her monthly car payments, car insurance and gas, she spent about $640. Her subscriptions, which include Amazon, Apple, iCloud and Sirius XM, cost a total of $52.83.

Her miscellaneous expenses, including random activities and Amazon orders, cost her $165. She also donated $300 to charity, including creating care packages or buying groceries for the homeless.

After adding it all up, Flaim spent a total of $6,027.58, with the rest of the money going into savings and paying taxes. Considering she would be bringing in $13,516 a month after taxes while living in Los Angeles, Flaim would have saved about $7,000 a month.

Interestingly enough, Flaim doesn’t make any money from her Crumbl cookie reviews, a food collection she is best known for.

Users in her comments section did not hold back on their thoughts on her monthly earnings, saying it is not an accurate representation of what an adult in their early 20s typically earns.

“Bruh, that’s my entire income for an entire year,” said one user.

“Twenty thousand for her talking about crumb cookies,” another commented.

A majority of the comments asked the same question: how did this foodie make so much money?

As she scrolled through the comments, she simply replied to one of the users with “this,” referring to her TikTok page.

Another user asked her if all her money came from her sponsored posts, to which she replied “yes.”

It’s safe to say that Kelsie Flaim has found her sweet spot when it comes to her career.
