Kylie Jenner teases at ‘getting in the recording studio’ for new career venture four years after iconic ‘Rise and Shine’ wake-up song went viral

Kylie Jenner has hinted that she might “hit the studio,” four years after her iconic “Rise and Shine” wake-up song went viral and she hinted at a new career adventure this week.

The reality star, 27, became the first Kardashian-Jenner to appear on the cover of British Vogue on Tuesday and said in the accompanying interview that she has “finally found her niche” in the fashion industry after devoting her 20s to motherhood.

But just months after launching her luxury clothing line Khy, it appears Kylie already has other plans.

When the magazine asked her if she had ever hoped to be a pop star as a child, she replied, “I think so, yeah. I always knew I never had a great voice or anything…

“I should be a singer. No, really. Maybe I’ll go into the recording studio when I’m done making clothes.”

Kylie showed off her current playlist, which is filled with classic hits from Aretha Franklin, The Beatles, Otis Redding and the occasional new song from Sabrina Carpenter.

“Please Please Please is the best,” she confirmed.

In October 2019, Jenner went viral when she gave a 16-minute tour of her Kylie Cosmetics office, ending the video with a serenade for her daughter Stormi.

Fans went wild over the clip in which Kylie melodiously sings ‘Rise and shine’ to her daughter, and they immediately reacted on social media.

The three-word wake-up call was mentioned and sung by other celebrities. After she surprised everyone with her singing talent, it was even remixed.

Another fan went all out with a dubstep version of the song with electronic influences.

And just last month, Kylie her viral way of singing children’s melodies revived to share a clip of her and her two-year-old son Aire singing the alphabet together.

In her caption, she referenced the three-word song “Rise and Shine,” which she sang in 2019 to wake up her daughter Stormi, now 6.

The Kardashians star wrote in her caption, “Aire was born a little late but he knows my beautiful alphabet.”

At the beginning and end of the video, her adorable son asked her to repeat the song, shouting, “Again!”

In the clip, Kylie sings the alphabet song and nods as she listens to Aire singing along with her.

She shares both Stormi and Aire with her ex-boyfriend, rapper Travis Scott, 33.

The former couple were in an on-again, off-again relationship for five years before calling it quits in late 2022, the same year they welcomed Aire together.

Kylie’s older sister Kim once ventured into music when she released the low-key album Jam (Turn It Up).

Mother Kris even got in on the action with her own song, I Love My Friends, which was largely based on Randy Newman’s I Love LA and was released in 1985.

Although Mother’s number was largely forgotten, Mother’s family did not hesitate to give their number special treatment.

Her daughters lovingly mocked the music video for I Love My Friends in tribute to mother Kris’s 60th birthday in 2015.

The Kardashian siblings remixed the music video for I Love My Friends and got her grandchildren involved.

Kim and her ex-husband Kanye West, along with Kourtney Kardashian and her ex-partner Scott Disick, all included their children in the video.

And just last month, Kylie revived her viral brand of singing children's tunes by sharing a clip of her and her two-year-old son Aire singing their ABCs together

Kris made a music video for her 30th birthday, a remake of Randy Newman’s 1983 song I Love LA.

Her version was called I Love My Friends and her daughters made a new version of the earlier video clip, but in a higher definition and resolution.

Kris’ daughters also made sure to provide an update on the brands and labels Jenner visited in her previous video, which featured The Cheesecake Factory.

However, the new generation also went to Chanel and Givenchy and showed them shows with Birkin handbags.

As the video begins, the caption reads, “For my mom’s 60th birthday, my sisters and I remixed the I Love My Friends video she made in 1985 for her 30th birthday. There are so many fun cameos in this; make sure you watch the whole thing!!!”

And indeed, there are numerous cameos in the video, featuring celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Cindy Crawford, Ryan Seacrest, Kyle Richards, Faye Resnick, Kathy and Rick Hilton, Justin Bieber, Joan Rivers, Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, Drake and Jennifer Lawrence.

There’s also a special message from pop star Katy Perry, who said: ‘Who gives a f*** how old you are, because to me you’ll stay young forever.’

Last year, most of the Kardashian family was present to record a new Christmas album, except for the one who claimed to have the most beautiful voice: Kylie.

Kourtney Kardashian explained during the episode of The Kardashians that after Kris released a Christmas song in 2021, they decided to make a Christmas album.

“After my mom recorded her Christmas song, all my sisters, like we all talked about making a Christmas album. I think it’s because we’re all obsessed with Christmas, and all the proceeds go to charity,” Kourtney said in her confession.

They were later all spotted at Travis Barker’s recording studio during a tequila-filled recording session, although Kylie wasn’t there.

When a producer asked Kylie why she wasn’t there, she claimed she had other plans for her singing voice.

“I have a different vision of myself in my singing career. I’m such an amazing singer and I have such a beautiful voice and I just don’t think it’s worth it, honestly,” before softly saying, “Just kidding.”
