The first session of the expanded meeting of the BJP state executive committee to discuss strategy for the Haryana state Assembly elections later this year began in Panchkula on Saturday.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP’s Haryana election in-charge Biplab Kumar Deb, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, his predecessor and minister Manohar Lal Khattar and senior leader Saudan Singh were present during the session at Tau Devi Lal Stadium.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair the meeting during the afternoon session, a BJP leader said.

Besides preparing the contours of the elections, Shah will also generate new enthusiasm and zeal among party workers, the leader added.

Shah will also give tips to party workers and share his roadmap and guidelines for the elections, the leader said.

Senior state-level BJP leaders, office bearers and around 4,500 party workers from all 90 Assembly constituencies are attending the meeting.

The first session of the expanded meeting of the state assembly was attended by Rajya Sabha member Subhash Barala, Lok Sabha MPs Naveen Jindal and Dharambir Singh, Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta, former MP Kuldeep Bishnoi, senior leaders O.P. Dhankar, Ram Bilas Sharma, ministers Mool Chand Sharma, JP Dalal, Kanwar Pal and Aseem Goel, MPs, former ministers and other leaders.

The party organized an exhibition at the venue, highlighting the state government’s initiatives and plans, including abolishing minimum monthly charges for domestic electricity consumers and providing minimum support prices for 14 crops.

On Friday, Prime Minister Saini claimed that the public was happy with the government’s performance and plans and had decided to bring back the BJP.

He alleged that the Congress had spread lies during the campaign for the Lok Sabha elections and said the grand old party’s politics of lies and greed had been exposed.

Saini had alleged that the Congress would also try to confuse the voters during the election campaign by coming up with “new lies and deceptions”.

All party members should go to the public and tell them that the Congress had no intention to serve them but to seize power by lying, he had said.
