On Valentine’s Day, Drake debuted his latest, self-directed video “Rich Baby Daddy” featuring Sexyy Red and SZA — taking fans from a house party to the maternity ward.
The video begins as an episode in the Drake multiverse: The rapper begins his morning filming on a VHS camera while he can be heard saying “finally made it out the ‘hood” while checking out his Honda in the driveway and waving to his neighbor Mike who is taking out the trash. The Christmas scene cuts to him and Sexyy Red, who is pregnant, as proud father Drake is elated by the soon-to-be mama. A house party with SZA ensues as Drake raps, “I still got some lovе deep inside of me/Please drag it out of me/You just might, just might get that G-Wagon out of me,” and trades verses with Red and the “Snooze” singer.
Rich Baby Daddy” was released last year, on Drake’s For All the Dogs, but the video needed some more time to gestate. Now all three collaborators have new things to celebrate: Sexyy Red has a new child, SZA has multiple (and yet still not enough) Grammy Awards, and Drake just won huge betting on the Super Bowl.
