Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Students seen jumping from window in their classroom as shooter, Tailei Qi, began shooting at North Carolina university.

“Just feel my privacy was insulted,” Qi wrote in a Twitter post on July 18 2022. “When I work, I will think I was showing the boss I am working instead of interests, devaluing the meaning of my work. That’s so disgusting. Self-respect block me from working. Then it takes pains to convince myself what I do is just because I like.”

On Aug. 1 of last year he posted:

“Bully in America seems to be a problem. It often comes with people not stopping them at the first time. Explanation is not a solution but makes them feel others will plead them every time they raise a problem, making them voyeur to find an excuse day and night.”

Students seen jumping out of windows at the University of North Carolina after a gunman started shooting on campus.

A person of interest in the shooting has been identified as Tailei Qi, a PHD student.

Before coming to the United States, Qi ironically studied at Wuhan University where he graduated.

“I would have never guessed that he would be the kind of person who’d could possibly be capable of this kind of thing. He was always very quiet,” said a friend.

University officials and police did not identify the deceased faculty member as they worked to notify their family.

Police have not pinpointed a motive, but Qi’s Twitter posts expressed frustration, stress and depression. This year and last, he made a series of vague posts about conflict with other students and his “PI” or principal investigator, usually a faculty member assigned by the university to work with students on research projects.

It is not clear whether that PI is the faculty member who was killed. Terrified North Carolina University students had to jump out of a first-story window to escape a gunman, as a Wuhan-educated physics graduate is arrested for shooting dead a member of staff.

One person has died during the incident at UNC, according to WRAL, and a ‘person of interest’ has been arrested. Two young men pass their belongings out of a window before jumping from a ledge to the ground.

Pictures of the suspect Tailei Qi, who police say was involved in the shooting, show him handcuffed around a mile away from the campus after an active shooter alert was issued.

Qi can be seen in an image provided to WRAL sitting on the ground and looking down with his hands behind his back, wearing a dark shirt and glasses.

Footage shows the suspected assailant being put into the back of a police car by officers after being apprehended.
