What’s trending in politics today in South Africa is the formation of a multi-party ‘moon pact’ headed by DA leader, John Henry Steenhuisen (47). The main goal this pact is to unseat the current government led by the African National Congress (ANC) and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). So, the question on everyone’s lips is, ‘will the multiparty Charter approach work’?

John Henry Steenhuisen became the youngest councilor aged 22 in 1999 when he was elected by the then Durban city. This employment has set him up for his journey in the world of politics. Currently, he is the member of National Assembly and caucus leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA).

Revisiting Steenhuisen’s scholary history, it is known that he attended Northwood Boys High School which is located in Kwa-Zulu Natal. According to records, the school produced several individuals who are respected in the careers.

One on the list is the soccer icon, Neil Robert Tovey OIS. One didn’t need to be a soccer fan to know Neil Tovey (61), his name spoke for itself on the soccer field playing for Kaizer Chiefs and the national team, Bafana Bafana. During his playing times, he was nicknamed ‘Mokoko’ which a Pedi name meaning, ‘cock’.
A cock is known to be resilient particularly when involved in a battlefield. Well, Mr Tovey surely demonstrated resilience during his playing times before he became a coach.

Another sports icon is none than the former cricketer and cricket commentator, Shaun Maclean Pollock OIS. Pollock (50) has cemented his name in his respective by leading the Proteas as their captain during his player times.
Hailing from a family of respected cricketers, it is no surprise that Pollock became the best all-rounder in the history of cricket.
