The South African people are not happy with the way Department of Home Affairs is handling the issue of Zimbabwe exemption permit. The permit which was issued to undocumented immigrants from Zimbabwe to enable them live and work in South Africa has become a serious bone of contention.
We would recall that the Gauteng High Court in sitting in Pretoria has ordered Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi not to arrest or issue deportation orders for Zimbabwean Exemption Permit (ZEP) holders after ruling that his decision to terminate the permits was invalid, unlawful and unconstitutional.
The review application, launched by the Helen Suzman Foundation, was brought in a bid to prevent the Zimbabwean beneficiaries of ZEP from becoming illegal foreigners at the end of June.
Reacting to the High Court Ruling, the members of Operation Dudula has disclosed that its members will be storming the offices of Home Affairs Department in a bid to compel them to commence deportation of foreign nationals irrespective of court ruling.
The group promised to take decisive action against the Department of Home Affairs if their fail to address the issue head-on.
