Taliban ban beauty salons in Afghanistan. 12,000 salons will be closed, and 60000 women will lose their job. Women can’t work, women can’t study, and women shouldn’t look beautiful. What do these bigots think women should do?

Taliban violently dispersed women who protested in Kabul against beauty salon ban, using fire hoses and firing shots. Protesters claim authorities resorted to violence, confiscating phones and beating them. For the past eight years, Marzia Reyazee has supported her family with earnings from her female-only beauty salon in Afghanistan, a business she spent more than $18,000 (now about R323,000) setting up.
