“Kill The Boers” was a controversial apartheid song in South Africa, sung during the era of racial segregation. The term “Boer” referred to the white Afrikaans-speaking farmers of Dutch descent, who were targeted in the song. The lyrics advocated violence and the killing of these farmers, reflecting the deep-rooted racial tensions prevalent at the time. However, it’s essential to acknowledge that such songs promoted hatred and perpetuated a cycle of violence and discrimination. In the post-apartheid era, South Africa has strived for reconciliation, unity, and healing, emphasizing the importance of understanding history while moving towards a more inclusive society.

Speaking of which, EFF presidential candidate Julius Sello Malema has come under criticism after his recent chant during EFF 10th Anniversary. After a recent farm attack on a white couple in Mpumalanga, a white farm owner was tortured and murdered in a vicious way. This happened only Twenty-four hours after the videotape of the chant started trending online. This has left many white South Africans in shaking because they fear that the chant might incite violence and some people might use the chance to kill the lives whites.

This has sparked a high number of reactions on social media, which made white people come out in the open to drag the red beret leader in hot water. This chant was debated and the white whom had killed a lot of South Africans and done other atrocities are in fear as the general elections is around the corner because Malema has threatened to do some things if he were to be elected as South Africa’s president.

Mzansi, what do you have to say about this? Do you think the EFF leader needs to take back what he said just to satisfy the white South Africans or you support him because you think the chant is harmless.
