Cyril Ramaphosa was born in Soweto on 17 November 1952. He is widely recognized as a successful businessman and respected politician and is commended for his humility. His credentials for the struggle against apartheid can be traced to his activism in student politics at the University of the North (now the University of Limpopo).
During this period, he organized rallies, which led to his detention in 1974 along with other student activists. However, no amount of intimidation by the security forces could deter him from pursuing the noble objective of fighting for a free and democratic South Africa.
From June 22 to 23, 2023, the Summit for a « New Global Financial Pact » will be held in Paris following the wishes of the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron, shared during the COP27 in Egypt. During this Summit, the issues at stake are the repercussions of the multiple climate, energy, health, and economic crises, particularly in the most vulnerable countries. The financing needed to address these crises will also be central to the event’s program.
Video of Cyril Ramaphosa as the president of South Africa giving his speech at the Global Financial Pact summit was shared on social media below is what was posted that got people talking my goodness. This you @CyrilRamaphosa? 😳
The West are shocked, they are shocked did you see?
Pres. Ramaphosa said To The West am disappointed & resentful on our part because we felt like living in the northern hemisphere is much more important than living in the global south.
The reason why people are saying this is because Cyril Ramaphosa became honest to the member of the financial pact summit telling them how disappointed he is, because of the promises they failed to keep. One of them being the 100 billion they promised but didn’t keep the promise.
So this got people saying Cyril Ramaphosa made the member of the financial pact summit angry by saying all those things to them, and they said this after they saw their facial expressions.
Someone even commented saying Cyril was telling them the truth, but bottom line is he was begging for support, we don’t need the west, we need to do things for ourselves and work with those who want to work with us not complain about the west attitude, we know the west only want our resources.
Then another one also commented saying Its been really interesting to see African leaders starting to talk directly to the western powers about African interests but I’m more proud to see our President in such a conversation.
