Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said that Zimbabwe fully supports the invasion of Ukraine and Russia’s military operations in Ukraine. President Mnangagwa said this when he met Russian President, Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa summit in the Russian city of St Petersburg.

I think he did that to spite the west. What else can Zimbabwe lose since they have refused to remove sanctions. I think he’s deliberately pitching the tent with Russia to mock the West. This was another tragic diplomatic misstep by ZANUPF gvt. The Global tide is against the Russian invasion of Ukraine. By publicly baking Putin, ZWE has joined Eritrea as the only African backers of Russian war. This is a final coffin in the nail for re-engagement with West.
