Julius Malema was spotted at the Durban July event with his wife. What caught other people’s attention was the watch she was wearing, and people have speculated about how much it cost. It came from Musa Khawula, who shared the story about finding out that the EFF leader is wearing a watch that cost two million Rands. It is not the first time he have been spotted with expensive clothes. He was apparently spotted in parliament wearing Gucci loafers, which is something that other people do not approve of because he is a politician. He is not the only one in the EFF party to be spotted with expensive clothes.
Even though he would be aware of it because he has a social media account, and he usually does not want to respond to such comments about him. It is not easy because many of the members of the public are not expecting a politician to wear expensive clothes, and it comes as a surprise to see a public servant who may not be doing his or her job. A lot of them have felt that they may be spending public funds for their own personal benefits while the funds should be spent on the public services. When a public servant takes on that job, they have made a pledge to serve the public with what they need, and it does not come from saying you may live a lavish lifestyle.
“EFF spokesperson Sinawo Thambo and other EFF supporters have reacted strongly against newly elected ANC Youth League president Collen Malatji, who on Monday took a swipe at EFF leader Julius Malema. On Monday, while addressing members of the media at a briefing held at Luthuli House, Malatji said Malema was booted out of the ANC due to ill-discipline. He added that the EFF was a cult organisation where the most educated leaders were not allowed to speak. Malatji said Malema violated the constitution of the ANC, which is why he was given the boot. This weekend, ANCYL delegates elected Malatji as their first president in eight years, entrusting him with the responsibility of embarking on a journey of renewal and revival for the embattled youth structure.”
