The Zimbabwean political space is gradually heating up following the release of date for the 2023 Zimbabwe general election, and many political parties are constantly evolving to ensure that their own preferred candidate win in the forthcoming election.

The southern African country (Zimbabwe) is more and more like a “dictatorship”, However Nelson Chamisa who is 45-year-old lawyer told AFP that he was ready to rescue the country from the authoritarian control of ZanuPF.

Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) party is bracing for a “rough” presidential and legislative election campaign against President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Zimbabwe’s electoral process has always attracted controversy and is littered with rigging, manipulation.

The CCC has yellow as its colour and a new symbol: an index finger pointing upwards. Judging by the number of people that started wearing yellow from 24 January to date, it is evident that the party was well received.

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Zimbabwe’s main opposition CCC training workshop for candidates for the National Assembly and Senate in Harare took place on Wednesday and Thursday, it was spearheaded by party leader Nelson Chamisa.

The training workshop was conducted by Zimbabwean academic and researcher Dr Phillan Zamchiya who is with the Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa.

The colourful event was held to better enlighten the constants about the different positions they were contesting for.
