Government officials have a way of making it to the headlines for all the wrong reasons, we recently had a huge scandal making waves in the country when a video emerged on social media where eight VIP Protection Services members were filmed assaulting three me on the highway in Johannesburg, the eight men have since been suspended after they were arrested and charged with assault.
When people seem to be forgetting about what the Deputy President’s protection services did, another scandal has emerged and this time around, it is Major General Kekana who is now on the headlines for all the wrong reasons, he will be dealing with the backlash from the citizens from now going forward after what his officers did in Westonaria on Tuesday.
Reports emerging suggests that Kekana’s official who were travelling with him in an unmarked vehicle found themselves in loggerheads with the residents in that area who refused to grant them access to a private gated residence area, chaos erupted and things got physical and one of the residents filmed everything as it happened.
According to reports, the police officer’s started assaulting one of the community members and they also went as far as arrest ing him, however, they reportedly released him without even charging him with any crime.
“Major General Kekana & one of his officers wanted to enter a private gated residence in Westonaria Extension 10 with an unmarked car. Residents stopped them & asked where they are going. They started beating one of the men & arrested him, later released him without a charge,” reports suggests.
On the video, two men were seen wrestling, the police officer was on the ground during the scuffle, the community member was on top of the police officer who later produced a firearm, those who were filming told him to shoot if he wanted to since he was overpowered.
