Collen Malatji elected as New ANCYL president after ANC SG removed Xola Nqola for insubordination

Collen Malatji has been elected as the new president of the ANC Youth League (ANCYL) at the organization’s 26th national conference on Saturday at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg. Malatji’s election marks eight years since the ANCYL had a leader. The last president of the ANCYL was Collen Maine, who was removed from office by the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) in 2015.

In his acceptance speech, Malatji pledged to unite the ANCYL and to lead the organization in fighting for the rights of young people in South Africa. He also called on the ANCYL to play a leading role in the ANC’s preparations for the 2024 general elections. The election of Malatji and the new ANCYL leadership comes at a critical time for the organization. The ANCYL has been plagued by infighting and factionalism in recent years, and it has struggled to maintain its relevance among young people in South Africa.

However, Malatji’s election is seen as a fresh start for the ANCYL. He is a young, energetic leader with a strong track record of activism. If he is able to unite the organization and to focus on the needs of young people, the ANCYL could once again become a powerful force in South African politics.

The ANCYL’s conference comes before the ANC Women’s League and the ANC Veterans League hold their own conferences in the next few weeks. The ANC has said that it wants all of its structures to conclude their conferences so that the ruling party can start preparing for the 2024 general elections. The ANC has said that the 2024 elections will be the toughest it has ever faced since the dawn of democracy in 1994. The party is facing a number of challenges, including rising unemployment, poverty, and inequality.

The ANCYL will play an important role in the ANC’s election campaign. The organization will be responsible for mobilizing young people to vote for the ANC and to spread the party’s message.
