Lungisa said they will continue to push for a multipolar world. He applauded for the ANC secretary general, Fikile Mbalula saying he gave a great closing address at the event.

This dialogue was held prior to the actual BRICS summit which will be held in South Africa in August. Although different political parties were invited to attend the event, ANC did not extend the invitation to the Economic Freedom Fighters.

“The closing ceremony of BRICS Political Parties Plus Dialogue is historical. Great closing address by comrade Mbalula secretary general. We will continue fighting for a multipolar world as we consolidate the Global South,” said Andile Lungisa.

Fikile Mbalula, the ANC secretary general, spoke about a number of issues that are affecting Africa as a continent. He said they believe that as humanity we must work together to protect the planet, as a collective inheritance for current and future generations.

The ANC comrade also called for the removal of economic sanctions on countries such as Zimbabwe. He said this is contributing to the suffering of the majority of Zimbabweans. As several political representatives are returning to their countries after BRICS political parties dialogue, Mbalula wished them well on their journey.

“The African National Congress of South Africa, takes this opportunity to wish you well as you depart to your various countries,” he said.

Social critics, however argue that the African National Congress should have also invited the Economic Freedom Fighters to participate in the dialogue. The voice of the EFF leader, Julius Malema was missed, and it could have made a huge difference if he was invited.

Malema said he will be able to attend the BRICS summit that will be held in August. This is because the actual summit wil not be controlled by the ANC.
