ANC member of parliament, Qubudile Dyantyi who is facing bribe scandal allegations, has revealed that he is eyeing a top position in the Western Cape province.

Dyantyi and Pemmy Majodina are facing allegations of trying to solicit a bribe from advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane’s husband in a bid to make the inquiry looking into her fitness to hold office disappear. The third member of parliament who was implicated in the scandal is the late Tina Pettersson.

The ANC member of parliament, said he has a clean conscience and has no reason not to contest for a top position in the Western Cape province. He said he is ready to subject himself to all the processes in a bid to clear his name.

“I have a clean conscience, I will avail myself to all the processes and don’t see the reason why such scandalous allegations would affect the good work that we have done in the ANC up to this point.

The African National Congress in Western Cape province are having their conference this week. It will be opened by the party’s secretary general, Fikile Mbalula.

The ANC’s first provincial conference after so many years in the Western Cape is being held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre this weekend. The party is promising to come out of the conference renewed and united to be able to challenge the Democratic Alliance for power in the province.

African National Congress is barely holding together in the province due to widespread division and factionalism. Comrades have been pursuing politics of divisions which has led the opposition to take over the province.

Comrades in the province have revealed that they are now ready to elect their provincial leadership.
