African National Congress veteran, Tony Yengeni has told the Economic Freedom Fighters leader, Julius Malema that he intends to honour the invite to attend the EFF’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
Yengeni was invited to the anniversary celebrations which will be happening this month at FNB stadium, and the ANC heavyweight has revealed that he intends to avail himself the same way the late Winnie Mandela did when she was invited.
“By the way thanks for inviting me to the 10th anniversary CIC..I intend to honour that invitation like comrade Winnie did,” said Tony Yengeni.
Other ANC members who have made it clear that they will be present at the EFF’s 10th anniversary celebrations include Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla. There is also a speculation that invitations were extended to former presidents Thabo Mbeki and Jacob Zuma, but it remains unclear if they will honour the invitations.
Social critics have however, expressed concern about ANC heavyweight, Tony Yengeni intending to attend the anniversary celebrations of the Economic Freedom Fighters. They said this might see him being kicked out of the ruling party.
Tony Yengeni is unfazed by this, and he said even when the late Winnie Mandela did, she was never kicked out of the ruling party. Yengeni is one of the ANC comrades who have been critical about president Cyril Ramaphosa’s administration.
“Fikile Mbalula is going to charge you. Be ready to explain why you must not be expelled from the ANC for attending that EFF event,” a social critic said.
It is undeniable that Julius Malema and Tony Yengeni are close. It shows how they relate to each other on social media with respect. There is no doubt that the ANC bigwig, Tony Yengeni will be at the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Economic Freedom Fighters which will be held this month of July at FNB stadium.
