A white Mayor was sworn in KwaBulawayo in Zimbabwe

Only 3 SADC presidents are attending the presidential inauguration of President Emmerson Mnangagwa in Zimbabwe.

Bulawayo’s all-CCC council is being sworn-in by town clerk Christopher Dube. The 29 councillors will then elect a mayor and his deputy. Ex-minister David Coltart is set to be the new mayor, deputised by rights campaigner, Dumisani Nkomo. 

David Coltart born in 1957 is a Zimbabwean lawyer, Christian leader and politician. He was a founding member of the Movement for Democratic Change when it was established in 1999

David Coltart the man tipped for Bulawayo Mayorship is former GNU (2009-2013) education minister . He turned down ministerial Benz as he felt it wasnt proper to burdern tax payers with personal perks whilst kids in Binga, Nkayi or some other remote place didnt have textbooks.

Doug Coltart has just been detained by police Law and Order at a Harare hospital whilst representing the two torture victims Cllr Wombe and CCC member Sanele who are recovering in hospital
