Popular Nollywood actor, Ali Nuhu, has berated Nigerian singer, Davido, over the controversial new music video of his signee, Logos Olori.
As previously reported by Naija News, Davido uploaded the music video for his new artist, Logos Olori, on Friday morning to his Twitter page.
This magazine was able to view a video of some individuals dressed in white praying as Muslims do before they started dancing and reciting verses from the Quran.
On his part, Davido’s signee imitated the Muslim practise of praying while seated on a building’s roof.
The video sparked debate online, though, as some internet users charged Davido with disrespecting Islamic practises and beliefs.
Ali expressed his disapproval over the music video on his Instagram page, claiming that it is incompatible with Islam.
He thought that in order to be creative in their various disciplines, performers should learn to respect other people’s cultures, faiths, and traditions.
The accomplished actor demanded Davido to take the music video down and provide an apology for offending the entire Muslim ummah.
“As much as we want to be innovative in our many industries, we should learn to respect other people’s religion, culture, and heritage,” he tweeted. “I just came upon the contentious video posted @davido.
“In Islam, this is wholly unacceptable. Remove that video and express regret for hurting the whole Muslim Ummah.
