Residents from Lang’ata have expressed dissatisfaction after their Member of Parliament approved financial bill which is poised to raise cost of living.
Speaking to local media while in a Bunge La Wanachi, constituents vowed to not to support Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o when he seek his reelection during the 2027 poll.
They said that MP Jalango had defied his party leader and continued to support President William Ruto’s agendas.
Jalang’o has seemingly fallen out with the ODM party leadership and has been viewed to lean towards the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration.
Led by resident Marthin Kimani, he said that they were shocked after the MP voted yes during this week’s parliamentary debate.
Yesterday, the Azimio coalition invited it’s supporters for a rally at Kamukunji Grounds in Nairobi next Tuesday, where it said consultations on the same will be held.
The Opposition said that the taxes were passed against the wishes of Kenyans, accusing Ruto of forcing them on Kenyans using parliamentarians.
Earlier, ODM Leader insisted that party MPs who have betrayed him by working with President Ruto must resign and face fresh elections.
