Why Today’s Daily Nation Newspaper Refers Raila as a Wounded General

According to one of the most recent articles published by the publication known as today’s daily country, the former Prime Minister of Kenya, Honorable Raila Amollo Odinga, is described as a “defeated and wounded general.”

It is said that things started to go badly for Odinga when the current head of state, President William Ruto, opposed to receiving the handshake in the same manner as his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta, and took a hard stance against doing so. In other words, Odinga was expecting to get the handshake in the same way that Kenyatta did. This is the moment when Odinga’s luck started to turn against him.

The author’s conclusion is that Odinga’s forces appear to be puzzled and have lost their primary objective, which makes them vulnerable to pressure from the ruling coalition to join the government. This is because they no longer know what they want to accomplish. Because of this, Odinga’s soldiers have a greater chance of joining the administration.
