Kakamega senator Boni Khalwalwe has heaped praises on Roots Party leader George Wajackoya over the manner he conducted anti-Ruto protests in Kakamega last week. Speaking on Thursday, July 26 during a morning show interview at Citizen TV, the outspoken law maker lauded Wajackoya saying he’s the only leader within Azimio ranks who comprehends what the constitution says on picketing.Following Raila’s directive for a 3-day anti-government demos last week, Wajackoya was photographed leading a group of boda boda riders in the interiors of Kakamega to vent their discontentment with Ruto’s administration.
Unlike the case in major cities where demonstrators engaged the law enforcers in rat and mouse games that subsequently led to the loss of lives, property destruction and injuries, Wajackoya’s protests in Kakamega were relatively chaos free and it’s for that reason why Khalwale heaped praises on him.Ruto’s failure to suspend the adoption of the controversial Finance Act 2023, collapse of the bipartisan talks and the biting cost of living prompted Raila to reactivate anti-Ruto protests saying that’s the only effective way Ruto could be made to attend to the challenges facing Kenyans.Raila’s plans to stage a full-scale duel against Kenya Kwanza was neutralized after government deployed it’s heavy machinations to counter Odinga and team from taking to the streets, the former prime minister was also muted after he contacted a bout of fever and it was for these among other reasons why Wajackoya and his team of Western Kenya leaders failed to make a worthy show of rebellion against Kenya Kwanza regime.
