WhatsApp is set to roll out a new update that will allow users to manage multiple accounts on the same device.

The messaging platform, which allows users to log into the same account across different devices, will soon enable the option to log into different accounts on the same phone.

The update will be ideal, especially for users who want to switch between various accounts, such as their work and personal ones seamlessly.

Additionally, the feature saves users from the hassle of logging out and logging in each time they want to use a different account, carrying two phones around, or accidentally messaging someone from the wrong account.

Whatsapp users can now enjoy the convenience of having separate accounts for different purposes, such as chatting with friends and family, communicating with colleagues and clients, or joining various groups and communities.

Notably, to use this feature, one will require a second phone number or SIM card, and a phone that supports dual SIM cards.

Once set up, users can switch between their accounts by tapping the arrow next to their name and selecting the account they want to use.

Each account will have separate privacy and notification settings. These can however be customised according to users’ preferences.

One can also mute or archive chats, delete messages, or block contacts for each account individually.
