What Ruto Said About IEBC Servers in Kakamega Despite Kalonzo-Ichungwah’s Statement on Bomas Talks

President William Ruto has once again poured cold water on the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance issue to open the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers over the 2022 polls despite a statement by the National Dialogue Team.

The audit of the IEBC servers is one of the issues tabled by the opposition for the bipartisan talks with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

In a statement on Wednesday after the Bomas of Kenya meeting, the National Dialogue Team led by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and the Majority leader in the National Assembly Kimaini Ichung’wah listed the IEBC issue as an agenda for the talks under the Electoral Justice and Related matters.

Speaking in Navakholo Constituency, Kakamega County after a stop over at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Ruto said there are no servers to be opened, reaffirming that the polls were credible.

“Good people of Kakamega, let us work together in unity, harmony and peace. The election is long gone. I still do not know why those people are restless, they have been crying about IEBC servers, and I warned them in advance to leave reggae.”

“I also told them that I was going to defeat them early in the morning but they did not listen to me.”

“I warned them they were not going to defeat me, and if they continue this way, they will not even get an agent here come 2027. Nobody wants violence, people want peace and development,” said Ruto.

His remarks comes days after the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga said should the talks fail, he will mobilize his supporters to resume the anti-government demos.

The National Dialogue Team has however expressed confidence that the talks would be successful.
