Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino today became furious at a non-uniform police officer who tried to block his wife Frida Muthoni from reaching her as they were leaving Milimani law courts.
The Azimio allied lawmaker was on Thursday afternoon was brought before the court of alongside six others where they were charged with conspiracy to commit chaos or subversive activities.
Babu who is one of the youthful lawmakers in the country was arrested by DCI at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Tuesday night after arriving from his trip of Mombasa.
He was then driven to a police station in Kirinyaga without the knowledge of his advocates but was later located by his wife Frida Muthoni Ongili who got wind.
After being released on cash bail and was making their way out, his wife Muthoni was trying to also make her way to reach her husband who was still at the police custody.
Muthoni was however blocked by a plain clothed police officer who was seemingly blocking her from reaching Babu as it is seen in a video that has made rounds on social media.
While still handcuffed, Babu shouted at the police to pave the way for her wife, insisting that she had to walk in front of her out of the court room.
“Leave her alone and let her walk in front of me,” Owino said.
