Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja coalition has said the anti-government demonstrations will go on for three days next week.
Azimio La Umoja -One Kenya Alliance leader Raila Odinga through ODM party has threatened to organise demos from Monday to Monday if head of state President William Ruto continues with his threats to Azimio leaders.
In a statement, Azimio la Umoja said due to requests from all sectors, the peaceful protests will be held on Wednesday, Thursday nd Friday.
ODM while reacting to the warning head of state President William issued today while in Nakuru County where he said that he will not allow more demos in the country and promised to face Azimio leader Raila Odinga head on next week when they will have their fresh demos, ODM has said that the demos set to for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are still on as planned.
He was speaking when they visited the school where pupils were teargassed on Wednesday during nationwide protests that crippled the country.He was accompanied by area MP Tim Wanyonyi, Babu Owino (Embakasi East) and a host of area MCAs.
ODM says that the demos are nolonger about Raila but ordinary Kenyans faced with high cost of living.
Wanyonyi and Owino condemned police brutality meted on innocent school-going children.He told police to desist from targeting learning institutions during protests.
“WE ARE ON next week from Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. And if he continues provoking Kenyans we will have it from Monday to Monday. This is NOT about Raila Odinga. This is about ordinary Kenyans protesting high cost of living. This is a Public Demand! Power to the People!” ODM Party warned.
On the collection of signatures, Odinga said the opposition would be seeking to actualize a referendum that would ultimately eject President William Ruto’s administration.
