This not being the first time Jalang’o is publicly showing support for Ruto, he went on to promise he would work with his government for the sake of the country.

“Our resolve to work with HE William Ruto was not a gimmick! We will support the president and we must support the president! When the president loses we all lose! Ruto is Kenya 1!” Jalang’o said in a post on Instagram after a meeting with the Head of State at State House.

Adding: “God bless the president and may we work together for our country! Always pray for the president for him to continuously guide and lead the country!”

Though elected on an opposition ticket, Jalang’o insists he supports the current administration. He insists that this is the only way the country will move forward.

Netizens fed up

However, Jalang’o’s post on Instagram elicited different reactions from netizens.

A section of his followers felt he had betrayed his own party by siding with the opposition.

@Prince.byson: Too much show-offs, be a leader not a politician, I used to like you so much from the day you were acting set books, you even came to my school Tarang’anya boys .Uliingia politics you became handyman of the president, flowing by the waves. Man up bro!!!

@the.last. general: Jeshi ya BABA na ulinunuliwa na coins into Kenya Kwanza, umasikini kweli ni kitu mbaya, your fall will be the greatest hata watu wenu hawataamini, wacha kwanza maandamano ianze Kenya mzima ndo uone you’re on the loosing end.

@Amianidaniel: 2027 sio mbali. 2022 elections ungeambia watu hii story kabla wakuchague. Bado ungekuwa unasanitize watu.

Jalang’o, however, insists Kenyans should practice patience with the president.

He observed that settling in a new government comes with its challenges which explain the unfilled promises made by Ruto’s government.

“He speaks a lot about so many plans and we hope he gets to deliver. I have always told you, again and again, all we need to do is to pray and support our president. That’s it,” Jalang’o said.
