The Orange Democratic Movement party is the current second largest political party in Kenya, just after the United Democratic Alliance which has the majority of elected leaders in the country.
The Orange party has recently embarked on making changes in the party, it first started by punishing members who have on one occassion or several occassions contradicted the party’s stand, Lang’ata member of parliament Phelix Odiwuor, Kisumu senator Tom Ojienda, Caroli Omondi and two others stand expelled from the party.
The Raila Odinga led party has today taken another major step, the party has filled up positions that were left vacant by occupants who resigned and others defected from the party. Kisii governor Simba Arati has now landed a top position in the party, he has been made the national deputy chairperson, a position formerly held by Janet Ong’era, a former Kisii county women representative who defected to the United Democratic Alliance.
