Pauline Njoroge a political strategist and an opposition blogger has called out the Kenya Kwanza politicians for alleging that Ruto did not understand the mess the country was in before he took over the presidency.
Pauline stated that it is an insult to suffering Kenyans when the Kenya Kwanza administration says that they need 2 years to correct the alleged mess of the previous administration.
She said that President Ruto was part of Uhuru-Ruto’s 10 years administration. She added that the loans maturing now were the ones taken during Uhuru-Ruto’s first administration and it was vehemently defended by William Ruto, the then Deputy President.
“I have been seeing a certain narrative from the Kenya Kwanza Alliance claiming that the reason Ruto is failing to deliver on his promises is that he did not know how big the economic mess was and how much the loans were, and that he only got to know about the extent of the situation after he became president. Saying we need to give him at least two years to rectify the situation so that he can start fulfilling his promises,” said Pauline Njoroge.
“This is complete balderdash and an insult to Kenyans! Ruto was the Deputy President throughout the 10 years of the Jubilee administration. The loans referred to and the ones maturing now were taken during UhuRuto’s first term. For example, the Eurobond that Ruto defended very aggressively will be maturing next year,” she added.
Pauline went ahead and asserted that Ichung’wa who attributes the current economic mess to the previous administration was the one approving loans and budget spending.
“Kimani Ichung’wa, a close confidant of Ruto was the chair of the budget committee till late 2020. He was the guy approving all the loans and budget spending,” Pauline stated.
Pauline went ahead and said that the Kenya Kwanza administration should admit that they fooled Kenyans during the campaign period and that they do not have any plan to help suffering Kenyans. She asserted that they were only interested in getting power.
