Senator Khalwale Reveals One Azimio Principal Who Helped Him When Luhya Bigwigs Ganged Against Him

Martha Karua, the leader of the Narc Kenya Party, has been praised by Senator Boni Khalwale of Kakamega, who adds that she possesses a compassionate nature.

During an interview that took place on Tuesday, June 27, 2018, on K24 TV, Khalwale recalled how Karua supported him during the time when senior Luhya officials plotted with the head of Azimio la Umoja, Raila Odinga, to prevent him from obtaining the governorship of Kakamega in 2017.

“Martha Karua is wonderful, and she possesses a big, kind heart. I have provided my services to her. Khalwale recounted that in truth, Martha Karua came to Ikolomani and walked with him when he was at the lowest point of his political career and when everyone in his community had abandoned him and joined forces with Raila Odinga to force him out of politics in a by-election.

The Senator from Kakamega, on the other hand, believes that Karua is unable to reinvent herself after suffering a defeat in an election.

“She has a stellar reputation in the city of Kakamega. However, she did do a very serious mistake. She does not possess the abilities necessary to transform herself. Khalwale proceeded by saying that in the event that you are unsuccessful, you need to be ready to reinvent yourself.

Since 2013, when she was elected to represent the Gichugu constituency in parliament, Karua has not had a permanent place to call home.

She stood for president in 2013, but her bid was unsuccessful as former President Uhuru Kenyatta won the election. In 2017, she stood for governor of Kirinyaga but ultimately came in second place to Anne Waiguru.

Raila’s running mate in the general election of 2022 was Karua, but they were defeated by William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua, who went on to become President and Deputy President, respectively.
