Speaking at the Kiganjo Police Training College, Koome defended the National Police Service (NPS) against charges of brutality and the killing of unarmed opposition protestors, disputing the police’s involvement in a false death toll.939ead137bfa4aa5a65ccd4689782595?quality=uhq&resize=720

Koome referred to the purported body hire as a component of a propaganda campaign intended to undermine police morale.

After Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma (Azimio) publicized pictures of bodies languishing in a morgue, the politician made his comments.

Even as the coalition led by Raila Odinga accused the State of ordering officials not to register deaths associated with police, Kaluma made his claim.

However, Koome promised that NPS will maintain its vigilance in carrying out its duty to safeguard Kenyans.

According to Koome, if allowed uncontrolled, opposition demonstrations that have descended into violent rioting might destabilize the nation.
