Hon. Eliud Owalo, the cabinet secretary for information and communication technology (ICT), is in hot water after comments he made during a live interview on Citizen TV today.
The CS aggressively attacked all media outlets during his appearance on the JKLive show, accusing them of continuing to deny the results of the previous presidential election. He was speaking alongside journalist Jeff Koinange.
Mr. Owalo asserted that the media was not impartial during the 2022 election because they openly supported Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio La Umoja One-Kenya coalition, against Dr. William Ruto, the current president, despite the fact that he was not mentioned by name.
Regarding that and previous events in which Ruto’s men assaulted the media, such as CS Moses Kuria, Owalo acknowledged that the media is definitely biassed. He asserted that major media outlets continue to deny that the candidate they supported lost the most recent election.
