He has claimed that he is currently in a tough position to ask for money that will help him channel it to the development of things like roads because of the recent reputation that has been showcased in the country.

According to him, he hosted a visitor from Chinese government who confronted him over the recent destruction of some parts of Nairobi express way by demonstrators.

He has narrated that he was asked if roads aren’t needed because of the decision by some protestors to burn sections of them. This according to him makes it difficult to negotiate for more loan money to be used in constructing roads in the country.

“Let me tell you. Today morning I had a visitor from China. He asked me if indeed we should continue building roads for you because you are burning those we have constructed? Or you don’t want them because you have burned the express way and roads in other places. How can I answer such questions? How will I look for money to do all the work? I will be given questions like why I’m asking them for money to build roads which goons will burn later,” said President William Ruto.
